New Additives on AGQM’s No-Harm Lists

Successful completion of the current no-harm test round for antioxidants for biodiesel used in diesel fuel or heating oil.

Antioxidants are usually added to biodiesel to improve the oxidation stability. Association Quality Management Biodiesel (AGQM) in cooperation with the mineral oil industry has developed two demanding test procedures to ensure a safe addition of additives to biodiesel. When using additives, special care must be taken to ensure that negative interactions with the fuel and its additives are excluded.
In the demanding test procedure for biodiesel used in diesel fuel a B10 blend is used for the examinations. In the twelfth round of the so-called no-harm tests, two additives could be included in the no-harm list: DBM AO217 IMP (Baker Hughes (Nederland) BV) and OXIBIOL (EcosMetique S.L.).
For biodiesel for the use in heating oil, the tests are carried out in a B20 fuel. In this year's test round, one additive successfully passed the test: IFO-6hD (IFO Agro LLC).
The list of all products that passed the test successfully can be found here: list fuel and list heating oil. The test report including all products tested so far can also be ordered there. Information to the next test round which will probably start in autumn 2018 can be requested under vasb@ntdz-ovbqvrfry.qr
