UBA publishes report on effects of fuel additives

Additives have been used in the mineral oil industry for over a hundred years to give the product properties that are considered necessary for regulatory, environmental or application reasons.

In its final report, which has now been published, the German Federal Environment Agency (UBA) presents, among other things, a study in which additives were examined about their effects on emissions, exhaust gas aftertreatment systems, the environment and health, but also on application-related issues, and concludes, based on the current state of knowledge, that no risk to the environment or health can be assumed from the use of additives.
