Successful B30 test in the shipping sector

Louis Dreyfus Company (LDC), in collaboration with Wisby Tankers AB, Sweden, has tested the use of a B30 blend in a cargo ship from Ghent (Belgium) to Santos (Brazil) and back again. During the 55-day voyage, tests were conducted to measure the impact of the B30 biofuel blend on the ship's fuel system and overall performance. As a result, B30 was shown to be a practical, clean substitute for mineral fuel oil with very low sulphur content, and during the voyage 24% greenhouse gas emissions or 723 tonnes of CO₂ equivalent were saved.
