ITRE for further use of plant-based biofuels

The European Parliament's Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE) Committee is in favor of increasing greenhouse gas emission reduction targets in the transport sector, making clear that sustainably produced plant-based biofuels have an important role to play in decarbonizing transport - now and in the future. The next step is for the European Parliament to decide on a final position. Hopefully, the Parliament will recognize the potential of sustainable plant-based biofuels as an important component of the EU's renewable energy policy and as a major supplier of protein-rich by-products for use as animal feed until 2030 and beyond.
