German government decides to phase out palm oil for fuel production

From 2023, no more biofuels from palm oil will be promoted in Germany, but advanced biofuels from waste and residual materials will be promoted via a minimum quota. At the same time, an upper limit of 4.4% of the greenhouse gas reduction quota will be set for biofuels from food and animal feed. The Federal Cabinet has approved the corresponding amendment to the Federal Immission Control Ordinance.
