EU Commission approves Canadian canola

The European Commission has approved Canadian canola for the production of biodiesel in the European Union, taking into account the tougher environmental standards. As of January 1^st 2018, it must be proven in the EU that feedstocks used for the production of biodiesel emit at least 50 percent less greenhouse gas emissions over their life cycle than fossil fuels. The Commission published its decision confirming that Canadian canola complies with the new standard.
