Climate-friendly tractors in practical use

The Bavarian State Estates (BaySG), together with the Straubing Technology and Support Centre (TFZ), are testing the possibility of using biodiesel in an AXION 830 tractor from the manufacturer Claas. The Claas tractor, which runs on biodiesel, is to be tested both on the test bench and in the field to determine whether all legal emission requirements are met. In addition, it will be investigated whether biodiesel as a pure fuel is a practical alternative for the latest generation of agricultural diesel engines with complex exhaust gas aftertreatment. The goal of the Bavarian State Estates is to use climate-friendly fuels or renewable electricity by five years from now only.
