Avril launches B100 in France

Avril plans to produce several hundred thousand tonnes per year of “Oleo 100“, a pure biodiesel from French rapeseed. They will distribute to companies directly as it is registered for use in vehicle fleets such as trucks and buses but not passenger cars. Biodiesel is usually blended with fossil diesel fuel. European biodiesel producers have been struggling because of cheap imports since the EU reduced duties on Argentine and Indonesian biodiesel last year which was a response to a ruling by the World Trade Organisation. “[…]For the industry it changes a lot because it is a new outlet for products coming fully from France,” Kristell Guizouarn, Avril’s director of sustainable development, said.
